Mint your album on Zora

You can mint an album on Ethereum as an ERC-1155 Multi-edition using Zora’s Creator Toolkit.

ERC-1155 is a token standard that lets you mint several tracks under one Ethereum contract, grouping the media together in an album-like form. A collector can then purchase some or all of the tracks at once with Zora’s “Mint All” feature. Here's what an album looks like on Zora and Future Tape. Read more about 1155 Collections →

We recommend that you first experiment with this tool on a testnet (a free playground). This guide will show you each step.

1

Open testnet.zora.co, tap + in the top right corner → Multi-edtion

2

Upload the first track of your album.

Each track can have unique cover art, or you can use the same artwork for each one.

3

Add track metadata: artist name, genre and collaborator info. You can add as many attributes (bpm!) as you like.

4

Enter the Album Name as your collection name, add a description.

5

Important step: set the track price, quantity and sales period.

In this example, we’ll be selling each track for 0.01 ETH without any quantity or time limits, but this can vary based on your project goals. Another approach is setting the price to 0 to receive Zora Creator Rewards. Read more about these rewards ↗

6

Review all the settings and hit Create.

This will create the Collection on the blockchain, along with the first track.

7

Tap “Manage my editon” to add the remaining tracks.

8

Tap the album name in the “Manage Edition” view to open the “Manage Collection View”. Then tap “Add new NFT to this Collection” to begin adding the second track. After uploading, select the “Album Name” collection instead of creating a new one, and repeat this process for every other track.

9

Once you’ve minted all the tracks, return to the Manage Collection View, and tap “View collection page”.

Then tap the pencil in the bottom right corner of the screen to customize the color and typefaces of the mint page.

You can also customize the style of each individual track. Here's the testnet album, we just created.

10

When you're ready, mint your release on mainnet at zora.co!
